Early Life & Roots

Born and raised in the heart of Jharkhand, Shri Oraon comes from a proud tribal heritage. Deeply connected to his roots, he understands firsthand the challenges and promise of life in India’s tribal heartland.

Political Journey

A two-term Rajya Sabha MP and a senior office-bearer in the Bharatiya Janata Party, Shri Oraon has built his career on integrity, grassroots engagement, and effective policy advocacy. In 2023, he was honored with his current role as National President of the BJP’s Scheduled Tribe Morcha.

  • Rajya Sabha Member (2010–2022): Championed the Forest Rights Act amendment, securing land tenure for thousands of tribal families.

  • Policy Reforms: Instrumental in the Tribal Sub-Plan fund increase, directing ₹5,000+ crores annually into tribal welfare programs.

  • Leadership Awards: Honored with the “Jharkhand Ratna” for outstanding public service (2018) and national “Sankalp” award for tribal development (2021).
